Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI) has been serving as a leading institution in educational policy development and its implementation since it was founded in 1972. Now KEDI plays a pivotal role as a national think tank in setting the national agenda of Korean education. Addressing educational issues and challenges, KEDI provides guidelines of innovating the educational system for the enhancement of educational quality.
Through extensive and consistent partnerships with international organizations including OECD, UNESCO, and World Bank, KEDI proudly ranks among world-class research institutes of educational policy development. KEDI strengthens its global leadership through joint research and international ties seeking for a new educational paradigm meeting the needs of the upcoming fourth industrial revolution.
Today’s Korean society puts a strong emphasis on education encouraging students to explore, pursue and create new ideas of their own following their interests and innate motivation.
With a particular emphasis on equal, inclusive and good education for all, KEDI focuses on constructing a new educational paradigm that enables a student to dream and discover his or her own potentials, and to develop competencies and professional knowledge required of a future society.
With continuous efforts to produce prominent research outcomes and to broaden research capacity, KEDI actively engages in interdisciplinary approaches and extensive collaboration domestically and internationally; thereby contributing to the increase of the efficacy of national and international educational policy and its implementation.
